critique as exploration

It is easy to speak about AI – and the lack of empathy. However, many answers may well be simplified ‘assessments’: based on utopian and dystopian stories from various sources, referring to one’s own common sense without acknowledging that others may approach the same question from their own experience, referring to their own commons … – While this topic is pertinent in many areas and arrays, it is probably most pronounced when it comes to areas where subjectivity comes into play. The paradox: humans usually claim it as exclusive for their species, while each individual seems to claim that all this is unique for him-/herself.

Especially in the western hemisphere ‘we lost the we’, are – or have been – established as unique individuals. The invention of the individual may then be seen as the second fall from grace.

The little arts gallery hosted in the home, the headquarters, of Edu-Art started to catalogue the works. So far, the catalogue starts by stating

This collection reflects over 100 years of art history – from Chagall’s biblical visions to Peter Kurgan’s mineral landscapes.

The catalogue was created jointly by DeepSeek AI and Peter Herrmann. DeepSeeek’s claim: AI helps make this diversity accessible without replacing human depth.

Working together with DeepSeek confirms what I thought – and discussed in several academic works around digitisation and AI: It is an amazing tool – and it still must be carefully, consciously ‘handled’. On thing, new to me, is … – well encouraging and worrying: AI can function as very open dialogue partner, funnily so open that it talks bout its own limits; worrying is, however, that the open ‘discourse’ often disappeared in reality. The often feared bubbles of the social media are not really an expression of our times – we only have a name now for something that existed for a long time.

The catalogue is work in progress – and preliminary versions will be published on this site – usually drafts that still need DeepSeeks ‘approval’ 😎
