2026, Week 38: there are two very different items on the agenda of the upcoming week. The first part is dedicated to the Human Rights Council in Geneva,

the second part of the week is dedicated to the annual meeting of EuroArt, the network of European artist colonies, working with the slogan: we inspire. Cultural Connection.

I will join the first meeting as member of the delegation of the China Society off Human Rights Studies

the second as private member.
And in both cases I feel committed to act as world citizen or cosmopolitan.
Well, the latter is not about The Women’s Magazine for Dating Advice, it is not about a luxurious hotel in Las Vegas and it is not about a cocktail. But it is indeed about something that is in someway linked, namely culture and life style. And here is the link between the two parts of the week:
Human Rights are a matter of lifestyle, of connecting, of living together … but all this in a more traditional way, namely not the participation in exclusive clubs, allowing only a handful of the rich to walk through the doors — doors that remain closed for the majority of the people. And this is also Edu-Art’s ambition: bringing people together, opening doors to the many activities of art in small villages as well as in the metropoles (and for the many activists/artists).
Edu-Art wants to contribute as tiny initiative also to defend and extend the right to education which is one of the fundamental human rights, increasingly sacrificed in the name of cut-backs and ”defence”. Then I dare to ask: what is there to be defended if what remains will be a torso — a body that cannot move as it lacks limbs and that cannot think as the head doesn’t exist.
In this respect, EduArt wants to become more than a gallery: a place for communication and debate.
